Unique hotel in Paris

We're looking for a not-outrageously expensive but special, child friendly, well-located hotel on the left bank...any suggestions?

That's what I thought, why didn't Ira recommend the Bonaparte, don't be so shy.

Especially since not-outrageously expensive sounds like it would fit the bill.

If you're on a budget, I doubt this can be beat. Great little garden area for the kids to play in.

swdob,
we had the perfect room for you at the Hotel Henri IV Rive Gauche. It's a lovely little hotel about 5 minutes walk from Notre Dame and across the road from Saint Severin church.

We stayed for a week in a regular double room, traveled for a week, and then came back for one night before we left for home. On that one night, they put us in a room at the back of the fourth (I think) floor. There was a double bed and then a single bed in it's own little area of the room. I remember thinking that this would be perfect for someone with a child.

The website is

and Nathalie has excellent English and was very helpful.

We paid E175 because we'd only asked for a double but even the triple rate is under E200.

This hotel sounds and looks perfect. I'm going to ask about that 4th floor room. Thank you so much!

This forum thing is great.

I hope it works out for you. It might have been the third floor, but Natalie will know. Good luck!

We're not going until March, but I'll try to remember to let you know how it all went, that is, if we get a room!
I am finally excited about a hotel, after reading about so many in planning this trip. This isn't our first trip, (I spent a year abroad in Paris, we spent our honeymoon 20+ yrs ago there, and we spent a couple of days in the Hotel Angleterre on Rue Jacob last year),but we wanted somewhere new to us. New, but still in the 5th or 6th.
Thanks again!
Susan
