UK trains- On schedule

Does anyone know if the train system is back to normal. Will I be able to rely on the schedules. Working my way from London to western Scotland via Carlisle and back. Thanks for any update.

No I'm afraid it isn't, and may not be for some time. We're still all very much in the dark as to what's happening. I think it has improved in some areas, but not universally.

You can check up on what's happening at www.nationalrail.co.uk

Trains to some desitinations are currently being delayed by up to 2 hours.

A national disgrace. I blame Margaret Thatcher.

Rats. I will be using the rail system in mid March. I will just allow for more time and hope for the best.

The National Rail man said on the radio this week that they ar about 75% back to normal. Some regions are better than others. I think Scotland is just about OK and the biggest problem is the east coast main line.

I know I'm sounding very ignorant, but would the "East Coast Main Line" include the route from London to York?

My train was late every last week & again this morning.(West of Scotland - supposedly one of the better areas)
Nobody knows when they'll be back to normal, that includes the rail operators.
Every promise so far has been broken.
I'd recommend that you arrive with the option of getting a bus in the back of your mind.(from Victoria I think)Buses are quite comfy.
