Two young guys travelling Greece - suggestions?
Well, not so young (27) but we're still in a party animal stage lol.
Basically, we're looking for a combination of fun and sightseeing.
I spent 6 weeks in Greece with my ex girlfriend last summer and we went to more romantic places, but now that I'm single again, I wanna party it up.
What would you suggest?
We have 13 days, arriving in Thessaloniki on Saturday June 30th at night. Is Thessaloniki worth staying in at all or should we just get on the overnight train right away and take off for Athens?
We definitely want to visit Corfu, heard Pink Palace is quite a party place. But we don't really want TOOOO much of a party on the rest of the trip.
Is Zakynthos/Kefalonia much happening? It looks beautiful, but I'm not too sure if the nightlife is going on. I'm more interested in all night beach parties, cave parties, amazing lounges rather than big & mainstream nightclubs with crappy American R'N'B/ Hip Hop music.
Some house, drum'n'bass, electro would be nice.
I guess realisticly, in 13 days we can do about 4 islands/towns 3 days in each? Or would you rather suggest 3 places 4 days each? All I know is that we're flying out of Greece from Heraklion, Crete so we have to end there.
Basically start Saturday night in Thessaloniki and leave Friday morning from Heraklion.
Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

Well, Corfu is a beautiful island with nice beaches. The Pink Palace is a party hotel for out of college students. I know because I worked there. It is a fun place but it's pretty budget class (sea water for bathing in the above units--unless they upgraded). If you really want crazy I'd go to Ios or Mykonos. Both are really fun. I still think Santorini has great bars but more sophistication and a wide range of ages. Go get 'em!

I think you are trying to go to too many places in one trip being as you want to party! I would suggest that you go from Thessaloniki to Corfu (either fly or take the bus and ferry, spend a few days there and then go to Crete (possibly fly to Athens and then on to Heraklion, or take the bus to Athens and fly from there). In Crete, there are lots of lively places, Malia is noted as the party town and is quite near Heraklion. In Corfu, there are lots of places with good nightlife, depending on what you want. Sidari in the north is pretty lively, I think you are a bit old for Kavos (the party place in the south). Have a look at the agni taverna web site for info on Corfu, it will tell you a lot about the place.
Kefallonia is pretty quiet, Zakynthos has more nightlife especially around Laganas.

When I was in college (Ireland) Ios (in the Cyclades) was the place to party.
Good memories - can't imagine that it's changed.
Essentially if you get to any of the Cyclades, it's easy to ferry from one to the other. Myconos is excellent, Paros a bit quieter. Airport located in Myconos.
Santorini is nice, but a bit further South.
Rhodes, Corfu, Crete - family vacation destination, Rhodes being the best (in my opinion) of these 3.
Hope this helps and enjoy. Be careful of the Oozo (sp?)

Crete has a lively nightlife, especially in Malia but also in Ag. Nikolaos (even lively there in April), Matala on the south coast has a young feel to it.
Rhodes - Faliraki is the party town (quite rowdy and trying to clean up its act), Lindos - beautiful, rooftop bars and restaurants, nice beach, not much in the way of clubs
Lardos - near Lindos, quite small but seems to attract quite a young crowd as cheaper than Lindos.
Ixia - hotel strip near Rhodes Town, some bars etc.
Rhodes Town - beautiful, historic, some bars and clubs.
Corfu - Kavos (think Spring Break in Florida with a lower drinking age, popular with Brits), Ipsos, Dassia, Gouvia - mix of families and singles. Sidari - lively, some clubs, popular with all ages, Paleokastritsa - pretty, popular daytrip, not a lot of nightlife. Ag. Gordis and Ag. Georgios South - quite popular, Moraitika - 1 club, several bars, nice tavernas (this is where I stay but I think it would be too quiet for you!)
All the iswlands are popular with singles, couples and families.
