Two Hours Enough Check In @ BRU

Flight departs Brussels for Atlanta at 10:30am. Train from Paris arrives Brussels MIDI at 8:17am.

Will that give us enough time to check in with only carry on luggage?

Will it make any difference that we will be traveling on a Sunday?

Am I missing something as I thought Brussels Midi is in Brussels not Brussels airport and it's 20 minutes travel time between the two - plus anything up to 15 minutes waiting time.

Then you have to consider when check-in closes for your flight which could be up to an hour before the scheduled departure time.

I'm SURE that I'm the one that is missing something!

I thought the train station was inside the Brussels airport. If not, it is obvious that a two hours is not enough.

Looks like I will need to travel from Paris to Brussels the night before my 10:30am departure.

Do you know of any nice hotels near or inside the airport?

Thanks for your input.

What's your budget? The very nice Sofitel airport hotel has been offering some specials with rooms costing about 100€ per night. Pool and restaurant (quite good) on site w/free airport shuttle. To get their from Brussels Midi, take the train to the airport and the shuttle will pick you up there.

The Sheraton is literally right at the airport, just a minute's walk away from check-in.

If you're planning to spend the night, perhaps stay in central Brussels and then catch an early morning airport train from Brussels central station. The trains run early and you should easily be able to get to the airport by 8 am. The airport train station is in the bottom level of the airport, you can just take escalators or elevators up to the check-in area.

If you are flying home on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, you are likely to find excellent week-end rates for Brussels hotels. It's not unheard of to get doubles at very nice 4* hotels for $100 per night.

If budget is an issue - definitely consider Priceline. There are 3 or 4 BRU airport hotels that come up in the $75-$80 range, and sometimes less.

Check out biddingfortravel.com for help w/ PL
