What intrigues you? What do you think about when you think "Paris" and what are the things you long to see?

What do you like best? Food? Art? Parks? Museums? Shopping? Architecture?

I guess the top sites are pretty easy to list, as would any guide book. Only you can pick among them. Go to "Destinations" above, find Paris and see which sites/sights are those that tempt you. If your list gets long, you can ask more specific questions here.

The first thing we did upon arriving in Paris (we had 5 days) was to take the Open Tour bus. It's hop-on, hop-off and passes by all the major sights. It was an enjoyable way to help us orientate to the city.
Enjoy your trip!

I have a blog article called "Paris on a Budget" that has some basic sightseeing tips. You can check it out at http://travelhorizons.blogspot.com/2...on-budget.html

I agree with mk. When we got to Paris (also spend 2 1/2 days), we took the Open Bus tour. There are 4 (?) routes you can take, but one or two will give you a great overview of the city. Then you can choose what you want to see closer up in person. (I'm assuming the weather will cooperate of course).

FYI - We chose the Eiffel Tower (including having lunch on the field), Sacré-Coeur (Montmartre), and a leisurly morning at a cafe. Loved every part of it.

The subway system is very easy to use, and saved us a lot of travel time.

Like tuscan's post, just pick a few things that intrigue you and go for it. If you go in understanding that you will not see everything (not even close!) it'll keep everything in perspective.

Enjoy!

Hi R,

Have you looked up Paris under "Destinations"?

City buses go everywhere the Open Tour does - for €5.50 with a Mobilis pass. This map will orient you to the city as well as any $30 tour: http://www.ratp.info/orienter/f_plan...aux&fm=pdf

I did Paris in 2 days and chose the few things I really wanted to see and tried to stay in a central area that I could get to those places easier. I plan on going back and seeing the real Paris the next time. Have a great time.
