Turkey triples Australians visa fee.
It appears Australians have been singled out for a tripling of the visa fee . This has now jumped to $120 double and should be an excellent deterrent to tourists, many of whom will no doubt go instead to Greece where no visas are required.

Australians singled themselves out by charging Turks $120 for an Australian visa. You get what you give.
I agree with lincasanova that if you don't like the Turkish visa fee you should be talking to the Australian government.

Most people have NO IDEA of what others go through to go to THEIR country.
The USA and many countries are following suit.. even CHARGES people approximately $15-$18 for every visa information phone call. The person tending my Albanian student on the phone didn't even know the answer to her question He could not understand WHICH type of visa she would need for her upcoming seminar/workshop stay.
Both phone calls, and still no answer, and it cost her close to 35E.

For citizens of a country that requires visas from almost the entire world to whinge about other countries' visas is a bloody cheek.
And a further demonstration of how wise we were to expel all our whingers to Australia fifty years ago.

Not all of them it seems.
Used to work with the son of the quintessential whingeing Pom. He came out with his parents, who soon hated it here and packed up the family and went back - only to decide they'd made a big mistake - so they came out again, and ended up living happily ever after. And, with the benefit of superior cultural and physical conditioning, he turned out to be not a bad bloke.
The Turkey/ Greece thing appears to be a consequence of our making a distinction between EU and non EU countries -

(making it easier for whingers in EU appendages to come and see what they're missing out on)
