I just got back from Amsterdam last night. I was at Keukenhof the day before(April 11th) and was very disappointed at the lack of blooms. The fields have very little in bloom and Keukenhof seems to be about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks off in having any color. The guides said that it was a very strange winter and they are about a month behind in comparison to their normal schedule.Wear layers as the wind was strong before the rain started. The pavilions had lovely flowers but just not the same as the whole area in color.Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Our guide said that it would be "at least" 10 more days if the weather cooperated so I would say that if you can push it back a week- I would. This time last year the flowers were in full bloom but sadly, this year the weather has not been good. Some of the daffodils were up but no tulips or hyacinths that you could notice.I was so upset after paying the tour plus the 12.50 euro entrance fee-spent part of the time in the Keukenhof restaurant having a bowl of soup and coffee to "warm" up!

We're noticing a slight turn in the weather conditions in our low lands (I'm in Belgium but the weather is the same as in the Netherlands). If this continues the tulips should be blooming in their full glory at the end of this month.

Thank you so much for this message. My daughter and I will be in Amsterdam April 19-26 so hopefully by the 24th there will be some tulips. We have never been there before and one of the things I want to see are the tulips in bloom. Someone keep us posted about the blooming of the tulips.
