Chas,
Thanks for the link. I've been on www.thetube.com before, but never came across the Guru area. One thing I wish it mentioned was if a station has escalators or not - I know most do, but last time we were there and encountered one (can't remember which one) that had lifts only. I am sometimes a bit claustrophobic in elevators, so I would like to have this information ahead of time.

By the way, does anyone know which station does not have escalators?
The deep stations are closed if the firemen are on strike. (Industrial action as they call it).

Londoners probably know where the deep stations are. I think Angel is deep. So is Gloucester Road (only the Picadilly line portion). I think Bayswater is deep but not nearby Queensway (or maybe the reverse).

hi buffy888,

I can't help but giggle at your post. I am the exact opposite. I wish more had elevators because I am scared to death of down escalators and high steep stairs. I think it is victoria station that has the 3 story high escalator with the set of stairs in between. all my friends got on going down and I froze. so i did what I thought was the next best thing and walked down the middle only to have a vertigo attack about halfway down. my idiot friend took pictures of the whole thing (I could have killed her).

I love the stations with the lifts.

surprisingly, i have no problem going up an escalator.
