Tryp Gran Via or Tryp Capitol

Any information about these two hotels?
We will be in Madrid in June, and on a previous trip we stayed at the Atlantico, also on the Gran Via. Does anyone know how they compare? How about air conditioning and buffet breakfast? Noise?
Thank you,
Joe

I guess you must have liked the Gran Via area.I don't,no matter where you stay along the Gran Via.Go to the site of madridman.com and do a search.
By the way Tryp hotels do not have a goodreputation in Spain. What is your length of stay? If it's at least 5 days you may want to check out Bancotel, fabulous deals!

Capitol was fine though nothing special I got a great weekend deal thro Expedia. the Gran Via is more upmarket. ( I Think) I stayed along the gran via at a small hotel entrance just near the PAN sandwich shop 3 mins from the capitol. Cant remeber the name , v Spanish and much better value. I would also say that the area is a bit dodgy at night. Personally i would choose a different location next time.

Stayed at the Arosa in October. Met a very nice couple who had spent one night at the Tryp Capitol and said it was HORRIBLE. Have not been there myself tho...

Thank you all for your reply to my question. I think the consensus is "better avoid the Tryp hotels"
Think we will stick with the Atlantico also in Gran Via (A Best Western ) hotel.
We were there 2 years ago, and we liked it very much.
Thanks again.
