LOL, Patrick. I find this only works if you wriggle your nose as you hop on your left foot.

Later, much later: This is SO frustrating. I've done your ritual, Patrick, and added several of my own and this STILL won't post. Aaak!

Judging by the 40 minute gap between posts around noon today, I'd guess nobody could make a post work. Meanwhile, though I've sprained my ankle hopping up and down. Do you think I can sue Fodors? And I did try the wriggling nose idea, but found that sticking your tongue out and touching your nose with it at the same time as wriggling it, works even better.

I really like the layout of the Fodor's boards, but honestly the question has to be asked as to when the plug should be pulled and the forums migrated to a new BBS format. I visit a couple of message boards where the sponsor uses Infopop, and the incidence of bugs, server downtime, and other glitches, compared to Fodors, is trivial. Go have a look at the cruisecritic.com or flyertalk.com boards and see how easily they load, update, and how easy it is to navigate. Why Fodors (or their IT consultants) keep re-inventing the wheel mystifies me.

Or maybe this message won't post. Attempt No. 1 no; 2 no; 3 no; 4 no; 5 -
No wonder you people are having trouble posting.

I rub my tummy with my left hand while patting my head with my right hand and clicking the mouse with my right foot.

Try it, it works first time every time.

For me, posting is not the only challenge.

Fodors.com is often unresponsive and
inconsistent.

LP's board is fast and fluid and we know they get a huge volume of post.

We appreciate the existence of Fodors.com and the people here put lot of effort into their post.

But, sometimes it's so.. darn... frustrating.

Get, what you pay for I guess.
But LP...com works so well.
No joke - after trying every conceivable trick under the sun, I've discovered that after I click to "Post My Reply," if I place my cursor on a blank space on the screen and just left-click like crazy, it seems to go through.

Ok. Tomorrow is my Ipo on my 'Mannic left clicking mouse' tool corp. Imagine the carpal tunnel sydrome savings.
I have already planned v2 which will include windows basic mapping for popular websites with a mapping to repeatedly hit the 'post' and 'back' buttons.
v3 will include a detonator that you can press and walk away.............
Any takers?
Just trying to maintain a sense of humour here.

OK, I've been hanging out on the board at various times during the day today and here's the sad summary of my experiences: 1) page won't load 2) can't open threads 3) replies won't post 4) a few minutes ago, messages were posting in the title section and the message section was blank 5) last post attempt evaporated and I hadn't taken my own advice to make a copy before trying to reply 6) and now I can't get past the first 50 posts to go to the next page. I'd say there's SERIOUS trouble here. About the only thing that does work is registration!
Update: Hit "Post My Reply" but it didn't post. Used the back button to do this update.

This is avctually a post for the US board with similar complaint, but will not take there, so I'm trying 'Europe"...
Have been having the exact same trouble since friday. I emailed Fodors about this on 1/31, but have heard NOTHING back.
Tried to post 3 times..here is what I get:
We're so sorry, we're currently unable to display the page you requested. That URL may have expired, or we may be working feverishly on that particular part of our site.
We recommend that you either use your browser's BACK button, or start fresh at the Fodors.com home page.
Thanks.

Hmm...seems much improved in the few minutes I've been on this morning. Let's see if this posts on the first try. Noticed there were no posts from 12:59 am to 9:54 am, definitely not typical.

Still seems to be requiring multiple strategies to get the reply posted....
