Here is a trip report from our recent holiday in Tuscany. We stayed at Lucca and travelled in and around that area, including Garfagnana region, Cinque terre, Chianti region, Siena and Florence. Have a read :

Suja, what a lovely trip report & the pics are fabulous. Makes me want to pack my bags and go there.

I'm reliving parts of my Chianti drive and Tuscany trip thanks to you...and it was only last week! Now I'm in Rome and it's a whole different feeling!

Thanks for bringing back fond memories of our trip to Tuscany in 2008. We also stayed in Lucca and loved it. Pictures are great!

I loved Montefioralle! We found it by accident, coming off an unpaved road. Had a lovely lunch on a covered patio there--i think it ws the only restaurant right IN the village.

Wonderful report and photos. I love your picture of the Devil's bridge and the others from that day. The Garfagnana looks like a spectacular area to explore.

@CaliNurse : Thank you for your nice comments I am the same, even on the drive back I was mentally planning when to come back!! And oh, isn't Montefiorelle perfect? We've seen a number of small hamlets like these in both Italy and France and I always fall for their charms..

@MaineGG : Thank you The Garfagnana area is really beautiful but I think we just scratched the surface there..I'll have to go back one day. Sigh, so much to see, so little time to do it....
