Option 2

They are both feasible, but #2 lets you spend less time traveling and more enjoying.
It looks like you are giving Florence little attention with all your day trips.
Are these trips all by rail ?
I'd personally skip Siena and Pisa and hit some other hill towns.

Hi I2,

Why are you going to Florence if all you will be doing is daytrips from Florence? I think that you would be better off staying in Siena.

I don't recommend Venice as a daytrip. I urge you to make it an overnight at least. You could skip Pisa.

OUCH!
I didn't even see "Venice"!
The entire schedule for Florence needs adjustment.

In both cases, we will be travelling by rail. The reason I chose Florence was because CAF tours offers some day trips from there. I've been to Florence, Pisa, and Venice but am really just revisiting becaues my husband has never been.

The first part of the trip w. Aix really can't be changed because on Day 7 and 8 we are going to a wedding. If you have any other suggestions for itineraries please let me know! I could use any and all advice.
