Trenitalia help needed IMMEDIATELY, please!!

I am trying to book 2 seats from Rome to Venice on-line at the reduced rate of 29E and get to the point where it asks me to "purchas".

When I click in, all that I get is "error. You overcome the allowed time to reserve."

Can someone tell me asap what this means and what I appear to be doing wrong.

I am fearful of losing out on this rate as I fumble with this system!

Thanks for any help.

When are you trying to reserve for? I believe they won't let you do it unless it's within 60 days from now.

May 14, and the shopping cart is red allowing the purchase to occur i.e. it is within the 60 day period as of 2 hours ago.

The latest but not the last in a long long line of complaints about how frustrating Trenitalia site is to users. Apparently they don't want to sell on their English site. some folks do seem to actually book however from posts i read here so persevere and be sure it's within 60 days - but not too much less as these fares apparently are in scant supply and sell out very early.

I was curious,so I just logged on to the Trenitalia site and was able to book two tickets for 29 euro for May 14. If you'd like to e-mail your phone number to me at [email protected],I'll walk you through it.

Hi nevertooold. I had this EXACT problem a couple of days ago. I was trying to buy tix from Venice to Rome for April 29. If the 29 E rate doesn't work, try it for the 39 E. It's possible the 29 seats are sold out and now you must try the 39 seats. If it doesn't matter, try switching to 2nd class (or 1st if you were already trying 2nd). I believe the error message indicates that the seats available at that rate are sold out. Try for the next best thing in each instance (or try a different time). I just got the special for April 29, so I know those. OH, one possibility may be that the rate expires on April 30, though I think there was a post here that said it had been extended.

Keep trying...I'll sit here until you get it!

Another possibility--you tried too many searches for fares. For some reason, trenitalia doesn't want you to shop and compare too much--it just wants you to buy tickets. Wait 15 minutes and then log on again. It'll let you do it then.

Thanks for your advice - I'll let my computor rest for a half hour, and then I'll try it again.

Thanks to all for your help.Especially Massagediva for taking the time to speak to me on the phone.

I was able to book (finally) at 5:00 am after the dogs woke me up, and although the 29E tickets were apparently long gone, I was still able to get the 39E tickets (still a savings).

Thanks again.
