travelling in ireland

Hi everyone
We are doing a driving tour of ireland...mostly smaller towns like kinsale kenmare kilkenney
wondering about whether it is safe to leave luggage in the car while sightseeing (luggage will not be in open view)
For example if we are goin to cork and want to stop in kinsale for lunch and to walk around a bit.
Thanks for responses!

yes it would be fine to leave your luggage in your booth. I'm from Ireland and do it all the time. just make sure you don't leave anything in your back seat really if your going to walk around for a bit.

We have done this many times -- no problems in Ireland or elsewhere in Europe. A travel guidebook suggests leaving a local newspaper on the front seat so that you look like a native rather than a tourist. Everything else should be locked in the trunk.

The last comment is sort of over ridden by all the little hire car stickers. Just leave all the goodies out of sight especially the sat nav which leaves the tell tale ring on the glass, cameras and especially state of the art phones/pads.

We have done this many times. As has been said, don't leave any tempting items in view. This is another factor in favor of spending a couple of nights in the same hotel or B&B, as you can leave the stuff there without worries.

I've done this all the time, as well. I always bring my camera with me, though, and that's the most expensive bit. I hide the GPS.
