Travelling alone in Berlin

Hey everyone,

I have been reading many posts by Berlin travellers and want to thank you all for your incredible recommendations and reviews. The problem is that I will be doing all of these things alone which doesn't bother me but I guess I'm hoping someone here will have some info on what travelling alone in Berlin is like.

I prefer to travel alone normally but Berlin has been THE city for me since I was a child and now I'm making my first trip there so I am hoping to make the best of it.

Any info and recommendations will be very much appreciated. Vielen dank!!

Berlin is a wonderful city! It has been many years since I was there, but being there alone didn't seem to me to be any different than being anywhere else alone. Enjoy!

Well, the Ampelmännchen traffic lights are east, the other ones are west. Checkpoint Charlie is a fake. It has been set up to look like this after the fall of the wall. Funny when people take a photo there .
The Neues Museum has reopend last week.

I've traveled solo many times; though not solo in Berlin (have been twice but both times with someone). In any case, I don't see how Berlin is different from other big European cities when it comes to solo traveling.

Think of the pluses of traveling alone:
- you can spend as much or as little time at any sights.
- you can go to any sights you want without consulting anyone
- you can eat at wherever you want, whenever you want
- you can get up early, get up late; go to bed early, go to bed late

If you're the kind of person who likes company, and who likes to talk to someone about what you see/feel etc, then perhaps solo travel is not for you.

Thanks everyone. I guess I was foolishly thinking that Berlin was somehow different for solo travellers than other major cities. Silly girl! Also yk I've read many of your posts to other threads and want to thank you for plenty of information that has helped me with my planning.
