Sharon, thank you for topping this thread. Guess I will not get an answer but I truly appreciate your efforts.

LoveItaly... you're welcome. I'm interested in the answer also. Maybe we should start a new posting... What art supplies do you purchase in Europe?

Just a thought...

I always take my little watercolor kit with me, but never get to use it as much as I think I will. I have good intentions when I pack it. I use one of those purple Crown Royal bags - leftovers from an ex - and in it I pack a small Coteman watercolor kit replaced with artisan 1/2 pans. My pen and ink from Florence, some water pens (with brush tips) I recently purchased - you fill them with water so I don't need to haul water around and are good to use with the pen and ink, a tiny sponge and my leather bound 5"x7" sketchbook with sturdy paper and a mechanical pencil. Mostly these days I take lots of pixs and paint when I get home, but can't get out of the habit of taking my little kit, just in case.

I take a small sketchbook, 5" x 7", and an even smaller bound journal-type in my daypack, with a mechanical pencil and an assortment of pens in various line thicknesses. I only sketch buildings and close-up architectural detail. I love to "read" my account of the trip afterwards.
