Traveling around Positano

We will be in Positano for three days and want to head to Almalfi and Ravello... if we have time Capri too...

How can we get from Positano to the others?
We are staying at Bucca di Bacco

Thanks for all your help!

Hi LongIslandGirl,

If you want to stay busy, yes you can visit Amalfi and Ravello one day and Capri on another. If you are going between May - Oct, I would recommend taking a boat to Amalfi and a taxi from there to Ravello. SITA buses are too crowded and late.

A boat from Positano to Capri will need to be reserved at least 24 hours in advance. Have your hotel do this for you.

Buon viaggio!

Hi LIG - If you're there in April you don't need to worry about booking ferries in advance.

You will find timetables to/from Capri on this link when the service re-starts:

http://www.capri.net/salsa/lang/en/page/transport.html

You can find bus Positano-Amalfi and Amalfi-Ravello bus timetables on:

http://www.sitabus.it/sitabus/campan...ROXV_inv_4.pdf

Hope this helps ...

We're going to be in Positano from the 30th to the 2nd November - are the ferries running then? We were thinking of taking a Positano/Salerno ferry and maybe even a Naples/Positano ferry.

Hi Gilbeys - You may still find ferries running on the Positano-Amalfi-Salerno route - weather permitting and on a limited schedule.

The Positano-Naples service is a high-season service (- hydrofoil, not ferry) - and will not be running in late Oct/Nov.

Hope this helps ...

Hi Lig,

I would take the ferry from Positano to Amalfi and the SITA bus back.

I agree with Ira. We did just that and found the dreaded Sita bus ride just right for that distance.
