Positano is IMHO the best of the Amalfi towns, providing you are good at walking up and down steps to sea level. They aren't just a flight of stone steps, but more gentle wide steps with shops etc. all the way down. Others on here will point you at Amalfi or Priano, so it's a matter of taste.

There is a choice of ferries to either Sorrento or Positano from Capri. There's the quicker hydrofoil or the slower standard ferry.

Hi Rml - Positano is my favourite of the Amalfi Coast villages. For setting it's hard to beat IMO ...

Ferry, bus, hydrofoil, taxi/limo ... the choice is yours - depending on budget.

I usually alternate between ferry and bus.

I highly recommend Residence Alcione in Positano. Check their website. We had a terrace with spectacular views over the water. It is on Avenue Christopher Columbus and an easy walk down to the beach or up the hill to the bus. We stayed there in June last year and paid around 120 euros a night. If you do go, be sure to opt for breakfast. At 5 euros pp it is amazing value and is served on your own private terrace!
