Dear Santa.

-a summer/winter place of my own in the Dolomites. Renovated castle would be cool..but..

-a free upgrade to Business class (First Class would be ok too)

-a wish for everyone. that the line at the Uffizi will never be more than 15 minutes total wait.

-shopping spree at the nice leather stores in Florence

-winning lottery ticket or grant of large supply of money OR, if that is not possible...an immediate end to this damn war, a balanced budget and...

Feliz Navidad

I have been *good* enough to receive any of these wrapped in a big box with a fat red bow:

1. A nice quiet Christmas dinner at home with my family. I was in Asia for 3 wks last Christmas and I will be back there again next Christmas for 3 wks.

2. A compact, tri-fold battery operated travel clock since I dont wear a watch.

3. Prague/Vienna/Budapest street maps.

4. Ability to purchase more days off from work.

5. New pair(s) of Merrell walking shoes.

6. One interrupted weekend alone with my mom, and then my sister because I feel like I didnt spend enough time with them. When I am home, I work insane hours. When I have days off, I'll be off on my next travel adventures.

I got a present early

I have a friend, and so does Fodors, who has not been feeling well.
Finally, the doctors have told her that she is fine and does not have what she feared and now she ( and her pals) can relax and have a Happy Christmas

News this good is better than a big present wrapped in ribbons!

Peace and generosity to people who have nothing are fine gifts to ask for, and if we take the necessary actions, we'll find them under our "tree" every day.

Travelplans, that was beautiful. Okay, it's my wish too.

And also, far more selfishly, I've been terribly good and would love to have both a European vacation (don't care where) and a return trip to East Africa in 2005.

But I will settle for peace, food and shelter for those less fortunate than overprivileged old me.

Degas, you sure do have the topping thing going! What I want to know is are you going to relocate to London (and become M_K's new best friend)?

I was trying to blot out all the bickering, but I guess its hopeless.

I have my fingers crossed, going back and forth now on salary and duties. Still too far apart to get excited.

That's grand news, Scarlett!

As you and I well know, Christmas is about friends and family, not things.

(Well, actually, it's also about the birth of Christ but not all of us are Christians)

Scarlett, having a friend receive good news regarding their health is better than any gift one can go out and buy. That is happy and blessed news for sure.

Happy holidays everyone!

We were discussing what to get our manager for X-mas when heard her coughing. So one of my co-workers said: I know what to get her! Flu shots!

Maybe it's not funny outside of USA.

Hey Faina, I wish you could send some here. It's not available for us. I'm up but my J. is in worse shape and in bed.

Mimi, you and your husband have been sick with the flu? I am so sorry dear one. I had a terrible cold in November (do not know if one would call it the flu) and more or less lost a week with being sick.

Sure hope the two of you will be alright. I send you my best wishes. Take good care.

Just curious, AnselmAdorne. Does the Dalai Lama fly first class or coach?
