AnselmAdorne: As soon as you get your Air Canada compliant luggage, they will change the rules again. By now you should know that!

(Shouldn't be nasty about AC -- my brother in law is an AC pilot)

At the risk of bringing down the light-hearted tone of this thread, I'm truly hoping for just two things:

Peace in all those other countries; and
A "clean" catscan for my spouse next week, so we can spend another 28 years travelling the world together.

silk longjohns, and please replace my binoculars, lost, also a pair of opera glasses, not considered redundant, and replace my basic black dress and black trousers which are worn out.

Books about Umbria. I'm planning on spending two weeks there in 2005.

And anyone who'd like to place an order for me from the Mas des Barres in Maussane wouldn't be turned down. Or chocolates from Joël Durand in St-Rémy for that matter. But not the Szechuan pepper ones, please!

I've got enough FF miles on United for two free trips to Europe - I think I'll give myself and a friend that for Xmas - how about that?

Tedgale, my wish for you is your wife having a clean catscan too and decades of travel together.

I do not think you brought this thread down, IMHO you brought it "up". May all of us count our blessings. They are so many compared to a great percent of the worlds population.

Peace, joy, good health and happy travels to everyone.

I'll also ask Santa for a clean catscan for Tedgale's wife and ask for world peace.

We've been trying to get to Nepal for the last couple of years and the safety issues have us on edge, so we've been putting it off. Do hope to get to that part of the world while we are still young enough to enjoy some adventure travel!

A transportation device a la Star Trek/Stargate. I hate all the time wasted in travelling.

A pocket knifw is a must for me. Instead of expensive padlocks that get cut off I use cable ties.

Wouldn't the goat eat the wrapping paper and bow? Keeping a goat wrapped sounds tricky.

degas asks if Santa is still an unabashed wine snob? Perhaps, young man, you have met one of my department store <i>Santa Agents</i>. Hours and hours of screaming and crying infants and toddlers, HO HO, I simply don't have the patience for it any longer. That's enough to drive a man to drink! Many of them do, I guess.

Anyhoo, Mrs. Claus and I agreed that I don't drink until after returning home - so, the coffee and cookies that many people leave out for me are just great! ~o) (<i>she doesn't feed me cookies at home.</i

I want to thank you for the offer, and thank everyone in advance for the goodies that await me at each home. Sure does keep me going on my busiest of nights - delivering gifts over all five continents!

I'm off now to an FAA clearance meeting. Yes, even Santa Claus has to obtain clearance to fly over protected airspace. I'll check in again on Thursday to gather the wishes of all!

Be good,

I have been extra good this year so I want:

Twenty additional vacation days that can be taken all at once - this one is the most important!! Pretty Please...

A VERY strong $ for 2005

A new Viking range for my kitchen and undercabinet refrigerated drawers

A full grown grape vine for my new Pergola - which does not look like it is in the italian toscana now matter how much I try...I could also use a wood oven next to it.

A case of Barolo personally purchased in the vinyard

Degas: If someone doesn't give you a Swiss Army Knife then give it to yourself as a present. I have two plus the so-called &quot;Swiss Tool&quot; (similar to a Leatherman or Gerber) and they are INVALUABLE...I've used them for everything from literally repairing luggage on the road to uncorking wine bottles to picking locks (don't ask..it's part of my &quot;other job&quot.

You'll never regret it.

I'd like to add a charge card for unlimited travel and to tedgale and any other posters whose loved ones are having physical problems: that they be well to travel with you.

Not to hi-jack this thread any more than I already have but:

My very, very sincere thanks to all those individuals, personally unknown to me, who have wished us well in the cancer battle.

Santa, I am not asking for anything just for myself.

For the sake and sanity of all of us Fodor's addicts please make sure this darn site works. Every day. Any time of the day. Any time of the year.
