Travelcard and Enfield?

We are going to be staying in Enfield with a friend and I am trying to decide what kind of travelcard to buy. First of all what Zone is Enfield in?

I like the idea of having one card for the tube, trains, & buses etc. Will the visitor's travel card include that area as well?

Thanks in advance!

Enfield is in zone 5 and is served by trains. I don't think there is a tube station anywhere close. The closest I can think of off the top of my head is Cockfosters but that is probably 3+ miles away.

Your best choice is a zone 1-5 travel card. It covers the trains, tube and buses. So you can take the train into central London and then the tube and buses for your travel around town.

Thanks Janis! Is the Zone 1-5 travel card cheaper than the Visitor's Travel card that covers Zones 1-6?

Thanks again!

Enfield Town is served by WAGN Railway from Liverpool St. It connects to underground Victoria line at Seven Sisters, so that's handy for going to the West End. Be careful around Seven Sisters station at night, as it isn't the safest area in London. Off-peak (after 9.30 am weekdays)
Zone 1-5 Travelcard will be cheaper than Visitor's, but the latter can be used all day and gives reduction for some attractions.

But - if you get a weekly zone 1-5 travel card you can use it at all hours - even for the night buses. It is only the daily travel cards that limit the hours to off-peak.

How long are you going to be there - If I am in London 5 days or more I get a weekly card because it is cheaper than daily cards. And sometimes when I'm only there for 4 days too - depends on if I plan on doing any peak time travel.

We are going to be there for 11 nights, 12 days. During that time we are probably going to go to Paris on the Eurostar and do an overnight there but even on those days we will still need to travel to and from the train station.

Travelcard Zone 1-5 £36.30

Visitor Travelcard Zone 1-6 £39.50

The above are for 7-day periods. For the other days, you could buy One-day Travelcards for £10 (Off-Peak for £6). If you need all zones before 9:30AM for those 4 days, just get another 7-day.

There is a new TfL fares brochure (effective 27FEB05) at
