>>>I looked on the Rail Italia site and it gives dates and prices but the seating selections are confusing to be. It gives Normal. Economy, and Super Economy.<<<

You should be looking on Trenitalia, which is the Italian train company, not other websites. The fares are base (full price/changeable), economy (advance purchase discount), supereconomy (cheapest advance purchase discount - no changes). Fare structure has nothing to do with the seats/quality. A base ticket will be the same car/seating as a supereconomy ticket (you pick where you want to sit). The same applies whether you select first class or second class. Both offer Base, Economy and Supereconomy fares although the discounted tickets can sell out.

Ciampino - You do not want to stay out here. Your B&B is not close to the airport and not close to the train station.

>>>According to my info, this B&B is 20 minute walk to the Vatican.<<<

No way. Not even 20 minutes by taxi.

>>>Based on google maps it looks like it is 4.5 km and a 10 mins taxi ride (depending on traffic).<<<

Are you talking about from Ciampino train station or from the Vatican? Via Gioia Tauro to Vatican City is 18 km and Google says driving time taking Via Tuscolana is 35 minutes.

>>>>now that you have gotten me to Ciampino...should I take a taxi from that airport to my B&B<<<

You are not going to the Ciampino airport. There is no train station at Ciampino airport. You are going to the train station Ciampino in the town of Ciampino.

This B&B is not convenient to anything, not the airport, not the train station, not the metro, not Rome. I would cancel and find somewhere central. If you chose this because it was listed on the hostel website and low budget, state your budget and we will help you locate something central with convenient transport.

If I can get my tickets on Rail Italli for 26 Euro for 2..super economy...What difference does the site make?? I am asking because I REALLY do not know if it makes a difference..Not to start any argument I don't think you got my point that I am doing a tour starting on the 20th that will put us right in the heart of Rome for 4 days...I don't think it would kill us to spend 2 nights in Ciampino...maybe we will get a flavor of less touristy things. I see there are trains we can take...so even more adventure!

I think between you and jamikins I am pretty set. I think we will find things to do in Ciampino and if not, a train trip into Rome will not break the bank.
