She is taking French in high school and I vaguely recall German. Will this also pose any issues for us?>

Absolutely not - just won't be able to evesdrop, etc. but anyone in a tourist capacity you meet will no doubt speak some tourist English if not be rather fluent.

If you stick to Paris and the Lac Leman area, those are both French speaking so would be perfect for your daughter.

That said, I speak nothing but English and had no issues either place (Paris just once, but Switzerland five times).

Lake Geneva and area is sweet but it is not the dreamy Alpine Wonderland picture of Switzerland many have ethced in their minds' eyes - only places like the Jungfrau Region or Zermatt and a few others will fulfill that.

But the Lake Geneva area is very nice too so if you don't care about Alpine Wonderlands basing in Montreux or Vevey, two smaller towns that many folks rave about (and a few bored with) and taking day trips by boat or train or foot is great!
