Travel time on the Paris Metro?

Is there a website link where I can search travel times between metro stops in Paris?

We'll be staying near the La Motte Picquet Grenelle metro stop and need to get to the Paris Est Station one day to catch a train, and the Paris Nord Station another day to catch the Thalys. I need to know how much time to estimate for travelling on the metro. Thanks -

Robyn

www.ratp.fr has a travel planner that will tell you route and transit time.

If you enter your departure and arrival stations or addresses at the ratp.fr website, it tells you not only the train times but even estimates how many minutes to walk from one train to another when transferring.

Where are you staying near La Motte Piquet Grenelle station? I ask because parts of that neighborhood are kind of sketchy and that métro stop is pretty well known for pickpockets and such, even though it's out in the open above ground.

One line is above ground at La Motte-Piquet; 2 lines are below ground.

We have reservations at the Hotel Tourisme, located at 66 Avenue de la Motte Picquet. Thanks for the warning about the pickpockets.

I went to school for several weeks right near La Motte Picquet and used that metro a lot, and had an apt in the area, also, it never seemed particularly sketchy to me. At least I never noticed anything that looked unusual compared to most other parts of Paris. I don't lend myself to pickpockets, however, so maybe I just never noticed them.

I use that above-ground métro stop fairly regularly when in Paris, and over many years have seen quite a few "incidents" involving pickpockets, police, once police chasing a group of young men down the platform, etc. Maybe just coincidence. And no, I'm not an alarmist about traveling around Paris, but that stop and Chatelet tend to make me more aware of my surroundings. I've never been pickpocketed either.
