i have been both places and will tell you my travel times, although they were not consecutive and both were very early in moring only on public transport.
Megaro(music palace area) to port was about 15 minutes if i recall.
megaro to airport on excellent bus that runs regularly and frequently on a schedule took about 35 minutes with no traffic.

these are just approx. times. both were early in morning. (7 am and 6 am respectively).
i assume taxi would be quicker.(depending ontime of day)

perhaps the metro line will be finsihed by when you arrive and take you all the way to airport, in which case, it might take a little less than this combo.

24 hr. all day ticket which includes going all the way to airport on public transport.. 2.90 euros

Starting the 30 th of July, you will able to take the 'old' metro line from Pireaus to Neratziotissa (the Olympic stadium's station)
and continue with the new commuter train from Neratziotissa to the Aiport

or

The old metro line up to Monastiraki, and then the brand new metro line to the Aiport. This combi will be the faster approx 45 min in total.

If you do this by car (as we did), it takes 45 minutes to an hour in the middle of the day. On our trip, it took an hour from the airport to Piraeus, and 45 minutes from Piraeus back to the airport. Traffic was slower going toward Piraeus because of all the Olympic construction on that side of the highway. I don't see how they can possibly finish it in time, but that's another story.

Thanks europhile..so if we plan to take a cab then allow for an hour to an hour and a half. Our ship is supposed to arrive at 8:00 am back to Athens so we should be able to make a 12:10 pm international flight then...Cool!

You should have more than enough time for a noon flight, even checking in two hours early (which they recommend).
