Athens airport to Pireus - Bus or Metro
Hello! I will be arriving at Athens airport on a Tuesday morning around 11 AM. Should I take the direct bus or the metro to Pireus?
Also, considering time of day we arrive, how long should I plan to get to the port? Is the 2 PM boat to Poros doable? Thanks in advance!

There is an Airport Express Bus #96 directly to Piraeus for 2.9 Euro, or you can take the Blue Line Metro for 6 Euro and transfer to the Green Line at Monastiraki. Either way you choose will take you about 45 minutes. The buses depart every 20 minutes, so it will probably be faster unless you get through the airport security at just the right time to catch the Metro.

I think you would need at least an hour on the metro not including the wait at the airport for the train to leave. I got back from Greece less than a week ago and unless the train was unusually slow while I rode it the ride from the airport to Monastiraki took 40 to 45 minutes than you will have a little walk to do the line change to the Green line to Pireaus. The ride to Pireaus was faster and very crowded it took 15 to 20 minutes.

The metro leaves the airport every 30 minutes on the hour and half-hour. I agree with a travel time of about 1 hour once the metro is underway.
Also at Pireaus, give yourself some time to find your ferry. I'm not sure where the ferry for Poros leaves from but the one for Santorini left from Pier E8. When you come out of the station face the water, cross the street and go left a couple hundred meters to get to the ferry pier.
