Travel between Rome and Positano
I am planning a trip to Rome and Positano in July. I will be traveling with my two teenagers 17 &19 and husband. Our plan is to fly into Rome then somehow get to Positano. We plan on spending 3 nights 4 days there and then returning to Rome for 7 days. We thought about renting a car for the trip but have been told it is a car is not needed in Positano. We are looking for suggestions for the best transportation option between the two cities, as well as an economical place to stay in Positano. Thanks for your help

Hi MG - The Salerno route Dok mentioned is a good one if you want to arrive by sea and are not in a hurry.
If cost is not an issue, the quickest and most convenient option is train to Naples, then limo transfer (- typically € 100-120) to your Positano hotel.
There is also a Rome-Positano bus service (- operator: Marozzi) leaving Rome 07.00 (- journey time: 4.5 hrs). This is the budget option. For details see:
