Will there be a nude section in the church? Or at least topless?

And does it have to be in a church to begin with? I find that churches are becoming more and more crowded - I swear they are shrinking the size of those pews every year, and packing us in like sardines! Why just last Sunday I was stuck behind an enormously fat man and was unable to get up to take communion!

By the way, Best Wishes to the Stellarossi....where are you registered?

The pews may not be getting smaller, it may be all those layers of clothes the people are wearing!!

Brian in Atlanta: did you say your friend Dr. Abate performs services? As in church services? What denomination(s)? Would he be available to officiate?

Don't be fooled, despite misleading public reations propaganda, Dr. Abate is not licensed to perform wedding services.

His specialty involves arranging wonderful accomodations for 50 people for every one person he sticks with a dreadful place to stay. Doesn't sound like such bad odds, does it?

Where exactly is Scotland, anyway? I mean, what part of England is it in?

Good grief! I leave for a short vacation and come back to find love is in the air.
I'm just tickled for both of you. Blind dates followed by whirlwind nuptials are going to be all the rage in the new millenium. It's true. I read it in the Teen People magazine that was wedged in my seatback, right next to the barf bag.

Speaking of barf bags will you be registering with Skymall or the Duty Free shop? Will I get free bonus miles if I mention I'm a wedding guest?

Our family of four will be arriving for a fortnight before the wedding. I'm sure we will be no bother to you, Tony, just leave the key under the doormat. Don't make a fuss, we'll just make ourselves at home.

Our party includes our 16 year old daughter and her hair. She will need ensuite accomodations. Our 13 year old son will be no trouble at all, unless he is in one of his sullen phases. My husband and I would like a non-smoking room, a cable modem, and a view of the Pacific from our terrace.

Have you given much thought to music at the reception? Perhaps your beloved knows some of those Italian gypsies. I'm sure they'd enjoy mingling with the guests, and might favor us with some lovely violin music. I think Some Enchanted Evening might just be your song. You impetuous lovebirds!

Can't wait to hear more about your plans. Can we also hope to hear the pitter patter of tiny Mephistos in 9 monthes?

Did we ever decide if this wedding was going to be on a Sunday? Afterall there is so little to do, what with so many of the stores and shops closed on Sunday, it would be perfect to hold it then .. an of course ATM's are open all the time so "wedding gifts" will be readily available!

What time will the wedding take place? It can't be too early or too late in the day since I will be arriving the day of the wedding. I don't want be asleep during the wedding because of jet lag.

Monica, I re-read your post and was thinking, why don't we all just go on the honeymoon?

Actually Ilisa, that does sound like a better idea. We could find a lovely pension, rent all the rooms for all the guests, and save the largest one for the happy couple. The wedding party can continue all night into the next morning. I can still set up a Fodorites get together after!

Cheryl: Don't bother with the 10 cases of Coke. I am sure they would prefer flavored water from Boots. Would someone be kind enough to locate and send some?

I like the honeymoon idea, staying at a pensione...is it warm enough to swim? And can I get a real American breakfast?

Alrighty, then, let's take it to the next level: why let Tony and Emily have all the fun? I say make it a mass wedding and join everyone together in holy matrimony! Then we can all take a trip around the world together. Each member can be responsible for planning one stop on the Tour O' Luv.

That's a great idea! A mass wedding, presided over by the Rev. Sun Myung MacMoon of the Wee Free Unification Church of Scotland.

No one has mentioned appropriate music for the wedding. How about a few dozen bars of Scotland the Brave on real bagpipes? I wonder what Mendelssohn's Wedding March from a Midsummer Night's Dream sounds like on bagpipes?
Or something on an Irish tin whistle??
How about the mass wedding at St Chapelle in time for a concert? How about a REALLY short honeymoon in Milan?

Can someone recommend a hotel nearby with a really good beauty salon? I blew up my curling iron.

There is no reason to hire bagpipes for the wedding ceremony. I plan to sing and my voice has been likened to bagpipes on more than one occassion.
I assume the (in)famous Loons will be attending. Will they favor us with karaoke at the reception?
