Trastevere Restuarants

Hi I will be visting Trastevere in June with my teenage daughters. Can anyone reccommend nice restuarants and eateries in this area. Also any Dinner/Floor shows? We are also looking for shopping areas (not too expensive)

thanks in advance

We've been to Rome many times and I have never heard about any dinner/floor shows..It just doesn't seem like a "Roman" thing!! Are there such things. anyone?

When we were there we ate at Galeassi on the Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere and it was wonderful. There was no floor show but we sat on the patio and there was a band, street musicians, jugglers and performers doing their thing and wandering about on the square so it was pretty close to a floor show!

There is definetly some sort of dinner/floor show in Trastevere. I have read about it many and my mom was on a tour that took the tour group there. I wish that I could remember the name; it seems to me that the word "fantasy" or "fantasia" or something like that is in the title.

This ought to help in a google search, unless the dinner/show is no longer in business.

In that case, dinner outdoors on the Piazza Santa Maria will be a great experience. We also had a fun time at an outdoor dining experience nearby at a place called Osteria dar Belli. They had a three pasta sampler that was good.

Restaurants I like in Trastevere: Augusto, Pizzeria I Marmi, Paris, Tana di Noantri, Alberto Ciarla, da Lucia, Pizzeria Ivo. A stop in Fantasie di Trastevere is big with tour bus groups. From what I've heard, the food is awful and the show not much better and it's pretty expensive. Your three teenage daughters will have a better time at one of the many dance clubs in the Testaccio neighborhood next to Trastevere.

When I lived in Rome my favourite pizzeria in Trastevere was the Fieramosca.

I believe it may go under a new name now - but ask any local and they will direct you. It's famous.

No floor show, but they did have strolling musicians every night. A fun place.
