Transportation to Ischgl Austria

If you fly to Munich, how do you get to Ischgl? I'm coming from Las Vegas.

Train from airport to the main station, then to Innsbruck, change for a train to Landeck, then a postal bus to Ischgl.
Schedules can be found at www.oebb.at
No need to buy any ticket in advance, you can buy a ticket from the airport to Landeck on arrival in the airport station, and the bus part from the driver.

To get to Ischgl, Zürich seems to be a better airport option.

Take a look at this site:

http://insurance.essentialtravel.co....ria/ischgl.htm

It looks as if you could drive from Munich although taking a train to Innsbruck and then traveling from there might be easier.

I am not sure that a long drive through snow-covered mountains after a flight from the western USA is a good idea... but technically, it is of course possible.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I think the idea of driving in a strange country in the winter after flying from Vegas the day before probably isn't a good idea for me. I could stay though in Munich or Zurich for a day and see the city and then drive to Ischgl.

The only reason I picked Munich to fly to was the book I was reading about skiing in Europe said that Munich is the closest major city to Ischgl and it's also about $100 cheaper in airfare. I'd actually rather fly to Zurich. Why do you feel that that's the best way to get to Ischgl?

Whoever wrote that guidebook obviously looked on a map and wasn't there. Yes, Munich is geographicallly closer to Ischgl than Zürich. Which means exactly nothing in terms of transportation.
If you want to drive in any case, it does not matter where you land. But if you want to take the train, from Zürich there are direct trains to Landeck, which also take less time. There you would directly change to a postal bus to Ischgl.
