Taxi or if the hotel offers it -- which it should -- shuttle.

The Cavalieri Hilton is not in central Rome.

We loved the Cavalieri Hilton, but it is located away from the city center.

They offer a shuttle service to the Piazza Barberini and Via Veneto (at least they did when we were they). The Piazza Barberini is a Metro stop. So, you can take a Metro to Piazza Barberini and connect to the Hilton shuttle. It stops right in front of the Hotel Bellini on the Piazza Barberini. You should probably email the concierge at the hotel to find out the current availability of the shuttle service.

I was there last May and return this Oct.-a great experience.
We used a limo type service. It was probably no more expensive than a cab. Run a search here and at Flyer Talk (Hilton forum) Rome airport transpotation would be key words.
The shuttle works fine, but probably not best bet to/from airport.
If you are on the executive floor, you will experience a great lounge.
Have a great trip!

I looked on their website today, and they do still run the shuttle to Piazza Barberini. Right now our plan would be to take the train to the main terminal in Rome, my husband said the Piazza Barberini is about 1/4 mile away. We would either walk or take a short cab ride. On their site it said they would send a limo for you for 75euros. DH and I don't mind spending money on good things, but we hate wasting money on cabs when there are other alternatives We would rather spend 75 euros on gelato
I'll let you know how our transporation works out.

Have you ever stayed at the Rome/airport Hilton? If so, how does it compare? We stayed there a couple of years ago and loved the executive lounge. They have a shuttle that runs back and forth to Rome.

Also, can you tell me the web add. for flyer talk? Cannot find it on Hilton's site.
Thanks.

You could also take the Metro to Barberini but in your case I would strongly recommend a taxi over the Metro or walking.

You can get a good limo for around 39E, but like your idea to Rome and take the shuttle. The Hilton's limo is overpriced.
If you have much luggage, take a cab to the Piazza Barberini. I've walked to the train station from there and it's not too far, but not something you want to try with bags. While there's many buses at the train station, you risk getting on the wrong one.

The Hilton airport, while an ok business hotel, really can't compare with the Cavalieri.
Flyer Talk is not part of Hilton. It's a forum especially designed for business travel. Go to http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ and page down to the hotel section, go to Hilton and have fun.
