Apart from flying and taking the train, many travellers would choose to
1. Take the SNAV or Tirrenia Lines overnight car ferry from Palermo to Naples (arriving at 6:30 a.m.); then
2. Taking the first connecting ferry or hydrofoil from Naples Molo Beverello to Capri.
It's less than 300 yards to walk from one dock to the other, so the connection in Naples is extremely easy and quick. Boats to Capri commence around 7:00 in the morning, and are quite frequent. Hydrofoil costs 12 Euros; car ferry less than half.

Thank you for the information - am interested in where I could book the overnight ferry from Sicily to Capri?? Is it just a car ferry or can you go as just passengers. Is there a US travel site where one can book for the ferry?? Thank you for your help.
