transportation help needed
HELP! I am going to Venice on Nov 9. Arriving before noon and our hotel is on Lido. What is the best way to get to Lido with 4 persons, 4 suitcases? Need cheap and easy please. I have looked at the bus, the Alilaguna and the water taxi. I am leaning toward the Alilaguna for ease and price. What say you seasoned travelers?
Thanks!

Am curious why you're staying on the Lido versus in Venice proper. It makes sense if you're going for a convention (that's where the Convention Center is) but otherwise you're a boat trip from anything you want to see. (And if there is a major convention on it can take 30 or more minutes to get on a boat due to the crowds.)
Also, you don;t say how you're arriving - by plane? train? cruise ship?

Dear NY,
I am arriving by plane. Four of us will be cruising on Nov 10th. The reason we chose Lido instead of Venice Island is because my friend is mobility challenged and we needed to find a hotel with an elevator. Difficult to find on the island unless you want to pay an arm and a leg. OK, I'm cheap. LOL
Anyway, take in consideration that my friend is not zippy and recommend the transportation. Keep in mind, she isn't wheelchair bound and doesn't use a walker, just not zippy. I'm thinking the Alilaguna will be fine, either way we will have to schlep the suitcases around, yes?
