Transportation from Agrigento to Taormina

I think we are looking at driving from Agrigento to Taormina now that we've gotten all this great info! We are planning to be driving on a Sunday...does anyone know if car rental places are open on Sunday? Particularly AutoEurope?

Since opening hours change frequently, and since AutoEurope uses a number of different agencies, there's only one way to get a good answer to this question. Pick up the phone and call AutoEurope and ask them which if any of their partner agencies are open on Sunday.
By the way, I'm personally very hesitant about the idea of leaving a car at a closed agency and putting the contract through a slot in the door, as is sometimes offered.
