Transportation advice between Seville-Ronda, Granada-Cordoba

Hi Spain experts,

I have the following itinerary for an upcoming trip to Spain, during which we plan to rely on public transportation to get from city to city. Flying into Madrid early May 16 and planning to take the train to Seville that day. Staying in Seville until May 22, at which point we are traveling to Ronda. BUT... how to get there? The train doesn't seem super convenient, but I can't seem to figure out buses online (not speaking great Spanish doesn't help.)

Later, we will travel from Granada to Cordoba on May 26. Bus here also seems like the best option.

Can anyone provide advice on figuring out the bus timetable and how/when to book tickets? Or is train the better option for either of these?

Thanks!

The bus and train from Sevilla to Granada take about the same amount of time. We prefer the train, but it's 6 of one, half a dozen of another.

The Alsa bus leaves from Plaza de Armas (www.alsa.es).

When I traveled in the area -- and it has been a while, so things could easily have changed! -- the most convenient public transportation between Sevilla and Ronda for my purposes was by bus, but I was traveling in the opposite direction. I took a train between Ronda and Granada (and was again traveling in the other direction). For my purposes, the train worked for the Granada -- Cordoba link (again, opposite direction).

You might want to check the Rough Guide -- it has some great info on transportation options.

Hi lois_dc,

I'm going to be traveling between Granada and Ronda and then on to Sevilla. I would love to hear what you ended up doing and what you suggest.

Thanks!

The train line between Granada and Cordoba is closed for the rest of this year for upgrading, so I read on these forums. Dive into the archives for info. I think kimhe posted some details about this a little while ago.

Take a bus from Seville to Ronda - it goes via the famous perched white villages - much quicker than round-about train with changes. I took the bus and loved it.
