Transfer from AVIS in Salerno to the train station - help please.

Hello: We will be dropping our rental car at the AVIS Salerno City Office (18 Via Mauro Clemente )to take the train to Rome. I've wondered if we will be far from the Trenitalia train station ? We will have luggage and our two girls. I'm thinking we can take a cab and just ask to go to the train station? Can I assume that I will be able to get a cab at a car rental location?
Appreciate any help with these questions.

We dropped a car, rented with Avis as well as I remember through Auto Europe, in Salerno a few years ago. The Avis office was within easy walking distance of the station. You may want to phone Avis and ask. Otherwise you should surely be able to cab to the location. The station is very close to the center.

We walked out of the station and straight ahead toward the water to the rental office, which was not more than two blocks away.

Thanks so much Betsy. Our car was also set up through Auto Europe. I called them and they asked me which train station we would be departing from. I told them I didn't realize that there was more than one. She ended by saying that she thought the Avis downtown office was close to the station. I figured I'd post the question here and get some more reliable feedback. Sounds like we will be very close. Thanks again.....

Hi L,

The main train station in Salerno is on the Piazza Veneto, about 1 blk off Corso Garibaldi.

It's about 3 blks from the Avis agency.
