What is the best website to view a map and schedule of the trains in Italy?

There is no map, but you can enter any point of departure and destination to get schedules at

www.trenitalia.com

You can click on "English" in the upper left-hand corner.

Here's a nice 'interactive' map of the Italian rail system (you can also get other countries').

Unfortunately, it doesn't show all of the cities served by trains.
