Train travel from Provence to Normandy

Trying to get a train from Avignon (or anywhere in Provence) to Bayeux (Normandy) and trying to avoid the connection in Paris and the change of train stations. Any ideas? Where does one find a map or timetable showing all the possible routing? Can't seem to find something similar to an airline timetable. Thx

In '01 we took the TGV from Avignon to the CDG airport, and changed trains there for Rennes in Brittany. This was on a Saturday. The train stopped in Le Mans also.

That's me and I've been tracking that thread as well. Now I'm trying to see if there are alternative routes rather than avignon to Gare Lyon - change to Gare St Lazare to Bayeux. Perhaps we can travel from Avignon to somewhere ? and spend the night and the next day go to Bayeux. Just hate the thought of Gare Lyon and the metro with luggage.

Regarding luggage hassle there are porters in Avignon and at the Gare de Lyon who wear red shirts. They can arrange for you to be met at your destination byone of their porters to unload luggage, get you to another train, to a cab, etc. Cost is minimal.
