Side Trip outside of Paris for a few days
Since this board has always been such a great help, I'd like to hear some ideas you all might have.
We'll be flying to Paris late October and are looking to go directly from CDG via train to stay a few days outside the city. We've already done the chateau trip thru the Loire Valley. I'd like to go somewhere else, maybe spending the night again outside Paris for a few days.
I'd like to see Fountainbleau and Vaux le Vicomte, is there something you recommend in that area?
Thanks in advance!

Fontainebleu and Vaux le Vicomte are not that far from Paris and you can do both on one day trip.
How about Dijon or Lyon?
Have you been to Normandy? Mont Saint Michel? Both are well worth a visit and an overnight.
Note that you cannot necessarily take a train from CDG, depending on your destination. For some, including Fontainebleu, you would have to depart from Gare de Lyon in Paris, as an example.
