train stops to venice and beyond!

We are travelling from florence to venice mestre in july. Our train receipts say venice st lucia to sirmione (as this is our next leg of the visit) but can we get on at mestre or must we travel into st lucia? Which station comes first?

Maestre comes before Santa Lucia. Any train leaving S.L. HAS to go through Maestre BUT that doesn't mean it necessarily STOPS there. If your train elsewhere stops in Maestre then you wouldn't have to go all the way to S.L.

It's Mestre, not "Maestre" and every train to or from Venezia Santa Lucia stops at Mestre.

Hi T,

Are you visiting Venice or just changing trains there?
