Train Station in Pisa

Hello, can anyone please tell me if the train station in Pisa has lockers for luggage. I will be coming from Venice on my way to Florence and want to stop in Pisa to look around, but will have my luggage. Thanks for the help.

Hi Pepper,

If you want to take a taxi to see the Tower and Duomo, have someone in the station call one for you. When we were there, there were NO taxis at the station and none came during the 15 minutes we waited.

We walked and it was a nice walk, not particularly scenic. It took us about 25 minutes one way.

Be sure to go in the duomo. It's very impressive and was a wonderful surprise!

Buon viaggio!

Hi Pepper097.

You could either:
- walk over to the Tower of Pisa and the Campo dei Miracoli, which takes you through a charming old city (to me, at least) or
- take the bus towards the Campo dei Miracoli, which is across the street from the train station. I believe it's bus #1 and it costs slightly less than 1 euro each way. The bus will leave you right next to the wall leading to the Tower of Pisa. Across the street from where you were dropped off is where you should take the bus back to Pisa Centrale.

Have fun!

The buses run 9 times an hour. There's absolutely no point in messing about with taxis.

And if you walk, don't follow the others who are veering to the left from the station, that's a boring walk. Keep straight along the Corso Italia, cross the Arno into Borgho Stretto and follow the pedestrians-only street full of shops and restaurants until you come out at the old city walls. Look left, and you'll see the tower, from a brilliant angle because the facades of the buildings framing it will highlight the crazy leaning angle.
