Florence to Pisa
What is the best way to get to Pisa from Florence? I know I can go by train and that will take approx. 1 hr 15 min. What are my other choices? How far is the train station in Pisa from attractions?

I guess other choices involve renting a car and drive yourself.
The main Pisa train station is not too close from the "attractions" - by which I assume you mean the Field of Miracles where the Tower, Baptistry and Cathedrals are. You can walk, but it is about a 30min walk (but a nice walk across the town). Alternatively, you can take a bus right outside of the Pisa train station, and there's a stop at the Field of Miracles. The bus ride takes about 10mins.

Hi HH,
You can also take a Lazzi bus from the train station.
Pisa Centrale is about a 1/2 hr walk to the Tower.
If you take the train to Lucca (a much nicer town) and then go on to Pisa, you can get off at Pisa S. Rossore, which is about 5 min from the tower.

Or put Pisa Daytrip Directions in the search box, click-on 'Italy' & 'Find'. Regards, Walter

Hello,
My family just came back from Italy. Pisa was one daytrip that my 10 y/o had requested, so we did.
The easiest way to do this is to take the train From Florence- about an hour or so. Coming out of the station, you turn to your right, and the bus ticket booth is right there. Purchase 2 tickets each. Then walk across the street to get over to the bus stop going north. Just pantomime to the driver you are going to the "torre". It's only a few bus stops away. Look to your right. You can't see the 'torre' from the road. All you see are droves of tourists right outside the wall. When the bus driver yells torre!! then get off.
one advice: If you are going there just to climb up the tower, do yourself a favor, and book online. You can only book 15 days or more. I missed by 1 day- and we had to wait for our timed reservation. We purchased at the site, and we waited for about 3hrs. It might be longer now that summer is here. Alternatively, you can visit the church, baptistery while waiting for your time.
petite.

Hi Ira.
I have a question for you since you mention Luka. We are interested to visit it this time. We will be staying in Florence and planning to make a trip to Pisa and Luka. Is it a good idea to do it in one day, let say Pisa in the morning for couple of hours and then Luka for the rest of the day...and then back to Fl.
Thanks.
