Train from Rome FCO to Florence

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have information about a direct train from Rome FCO to Florence? I am having a difficult time finding any information about it. I would prefer to take a direct train from the FCO to Florence, as opposed to changing trains at Rome Termini.

Thanks very much!

Train from Rome Airport FCO to Florence

A discussion on that and there was in 2016 but I can't find anything about now -presumably same - check airport website?

From TA 2015:

4. Re: Train From FCO To Florence
Feb 24, 2015, 2:03 PMNote that Trenitalia now has two daily direct high speed trains from Fiumicino airport to Florence, en route to Venice (dep. 11.08 and 15.08), i.e. you could do without changing trains at Rome's Termini station.

Consider first-class as well as they can be fairly cheap and with baggage, etc more comfy. For what to expect on Italian trains check www.seat61.com; BETS-European Rail Experts and www.ricksteves.com.

Like other inquiries of this type, crucial info are missing: where are you looking at? Which day and what time?
If you look at connections at Acquista il biglietto con le nostre offerte - Trenitalia, Fiumicino Aeroporto - Firenze S. M. Novella, you will be shown all the relevant options. For example, for May 15th morning, you can quickly find that 11:08 Frecciargento 8431 does not require train change.

On the trenitalia.com site, enter Fiumicino Aeroporto as origin and Firenze ( Tutte Le Stazioni ) as destination, and check the box for Frecce. For random weekday I just got two options departing at 108 and 1508 each with 2h 14' travel time

And if those don't fit just take the airport express to Rome Termini station and change - very easy really.

Thanks, everyone! I see now that I was unable to find the FCO station because I was inputting "Roma" instead of "Fiumicino". Thank you very much; most helpful!

Look at conditions with tickets - cheapest ones are often train-specific and can't be changed. Full-fare may be a good investment if connections are iffy plane to train.
