ita, I took the train des pignes from Nice to Entrevaux in November 2001. I did a lot of research at the following site -
http://www.provencebeyond.com. I decided to go to Entrevaux as it was a 90 minute trip and I could spend about an hour and change there and get the train going back to Nice and still have time left to do something else as my whole Riviera trip was only five days. I really loved this excursion and felt it was a highlight. I walked up to the citadel at the top of the mountain in Entrevaux and then came back and picked up something to eat in a grocery on the train going back. If I had more time I might have gone further but was perfectly happy with what I did do.

btilke: how was your trip on the train? I think I will have to choose between missing one museum in Nice and spending the whole day on the train. Is it worthwhile going all the way and what are good stops to get out and explore?
