Train and car rental Florence

We are taking a train from Venice to Florence and then need to rent a car to drive to Poppi in Tuscany. Where is the best place to rent a car close to a train station?

The last time we were in Florence, most of the major rental companies were within a few blocks of the train station. We used Hertz.

Most agencies tend to be in/around BORGO OGNISSANTI, not far from the train station. This is useful reading https://www.visitflorence.com/floren...ar-rental.html. Trust you are familiar with the ZTLs, especially Florence.

Have you considered going Venice-Arezzo and renting the car in Arezzo? The train ride will be a bit longer, but Arezzo is closer to Poppi and easier to drive out of than Florence. It's also a great town for a quick wander and/or lunch before driving away. The only issue might be coordinating your arrival with the open/closed hours of the rental offices.

I agree with Jean.

We had a hotel a block from the train station and even though I never left the car to load our luggage, it was one of the traffice zones they talk about and got a ticket. So I would stay clear of Florence with a car
