Town in between Grenada & Sevilla
I'm driving from Grenada to Sevilla in April (in time to make it to Feria), and I'd like to spend 1 night in a town in between the two cities. I'm already staying in Cordoba, and I'm not interested in Malaga. Does anyone have any recommendations on towns and hotels - something with a local Spanish flavor that would be easy to get to and not too pricey?

Jaen is a little out of your way, but I seem to recall a recent post saying that the town is attractive and that the parador there is very agreeable.

My personal choice is Ronda, but your can start you research with the following inexpensive lodgings in village of Osuna (http://www.ayto-osuna.org/), on the road to Granada. You may find it to your liking.

We made that drive a couple years ago and stayed in Ronda. Straight south to the Med from Granada, then west to around Marbella, then north to Ronda. Nice route, for the most part. The road to Ronda takes you up into the mountains with great views back down to the sea.

Ronda is my favourite place in Spain. It's a nice town with a friendly paseo in the early evening, gorgeous views of the countryside, the gorge and nice restaurants. We also enjoyed a great flamenco show. Our favourite hotel in our 5 week trip to Spain, Portugal & France was in Ronda...the Hotel San Gabriel www.hotelsangabriel.com
We were there in September and I'd go back in a minute....
