Except that I dont think that the parking area at the station is the most centrally located. If you don't want to take the train, you have a longish walk to the more interesting part of the ciy. Or you could take the metro from there.
As kerouac says, underground parking areas are under all the major squares. I would look out for the Capitole, St Georges, or Esquirol parking lots. That's what we usually do, depending on where we want to have lunch!

The reason I indicated this parking area is that when you drive into a town and do not know your way around, it is always easier to find the station that the more centrally located places -
This is especially the case in Toulouse when you are driving from Carcassonne. There are several road signs pointing to the station soon after you leave the highway.
