I agree that on a limited visit such as a week, one Parish Close visit is enough, I disagree that "almost every village has a Parish Close".
To qualify as a Parish Close there needs to be a church, a Triumphal Arch, an Ossuary and a Calvary. Many have a component or two, frequently the calvary, but the majority don't have a complete Parish Close

Not sure if those looking at this post are experts on Paris, but can anyone tell me if there are horrible steps associated with taking the RER from Charles de Gaulle? These are the directions on our hotel site: "RER B in the direction of Robinson-St Rémy lès-Chevreuse, alight at Notre Dame-Saint Michel." My sister has recently had knee surgery, so we want to limit the number of steps she has to climb, if at all possible.

I'm also going to Brittany the last week of May for 2 weeks. I'm starting out in Vannes, then doing a loop drive North (will stay around the Dinan area, but not directly in town). Then continue the loop around the coast, staying in a couple of places, ending up near Quimper.
If anyone going to Brittany is back before the last week of May, please do a trip report! I'm really anxious for any information I can get.
I'll certainly do a trip report when I get back, with reports on hotels, etc. All the information I've found on here has been invaluable!

I've travelled in Brittany without a car and had no particular trouble.
I particularly enjoyed:
-Dinan
-Josselin
-Vitre
-Fougeres
-St. Malo
-Mont St. Michelle
.....to name a few of my personal favorites. Mont St. Michelle is a "must see" site IMHO and I particularly enjoyed St. Malo with a little side trip to Dinard.
Rennes is a good hub for the area and St. Malo also has very reasonable train service to surrounding towns.
Many here tout cars...but cars are not fiscally feesible for everyone especially if you do not drive a standard.
It is a beautiful region though - however you get out and about. Have a crepe, some lovely cidre and enjoy.

SemiMike -- Thanks for sharing your photos of Brittany. They are terrific. How long were you there? It seemed like you covered a lot. Mowrites and I are trying to figure out our four nights in Brittany and/or Normandy. We've been starting to worry we'll be too rushed if we try to visit both areas.
We generally try to follow a two-night rule -- that is, that we stay at least two nights in one place. We're trying to figure out if there are two towns or cities we can pick that will allow us to see a lot without feeling like we're sprinting from place to place.
We are considering taking the train from Paris to Rouen or Caen rather than to pick up the car in Paris. Any thoughts anyone?

Doriana, we were there for 8 nights - and we did cover a lot of ground! We elected to stay in one place on the south coast (just outside the town of Nevez, not far from Pont Aven). Our B&B was great, inexpensive (45 euros) and very congenial. The low price offset the driving costs. We were amused by the comments of our host that driving to say, St. Malo was "so far" - for us Americans, a couple of hours is no big deal! We have done both the staying-in-one-place trip, and the B&B-hopping one, and prefer the former.
