Can you stand one more question about the Sorrento-Rome bus?
Looks like the Marozzi bus only leaves Sorrento at 5:00 pm on Sunday, with no early morning departure. Am I missing something? I had decided to take that bus because it meant no expensive driver to Naples to get the train and only having to deal with my luggage once, but I wanted the early departure.

You have it backwards. According to the timetables at www.marozzivt.it, the only bus on Sunday leaves at 07:00. On Fridays and Saturdays there are two buses leaving at 07:00 and 15:00. Mondays-Thursdays there is one bus leaving at 15:00.

Susan you are correct.
Monday to Saturday, there are 2 buses daily. 6:00 am leaving from Sorrento arriving in Rome 9:45 am, and an afternoon bus leaving the Amalfi Coast (didn't say where it started), stopped in Sorrento at 5pm, arriving in Rome at 9 p.m.
On Sunday, there is only the afternoon bus.

John, that's what I was afraid of! Now I have to decide whether I still want the easy, cheap bus that gets in at 9:00 pm or getting to Naples for the train and getting to Rome much earlier. I may still go with the bus, as I do have a whole week in Rome.

Also, when you book the tickets on line you can pick the seats in advance. The chart looks like the bus is a double decker, so we picked seats 31, 32 which are the "second row" from the front on the so-called "upper deck", but in reality the "lower" and "upper" decks are the same level separated by the exit door at the middle of the bus, where the tiny washroom/toilet resides.
I have seen Marozzi double deckers but that's not the one we took between Rome and Sorrento.
How do you get to Sorrento? is it from Rome? if it is the Tiburtina Station is very confusing because there is no sign telling you out of some 14 docks, where the Marozzi bus for Sorrento departs!

John, thanks for that additional information. I did notice that you can pick your seat and will be getting the ticket ahead of time. I'm flying into Naples, so I don't have to worry about finding the correct bus out of Rome.
