Time to make second flight in Heathrow coming from US-is it enough?

We are scheduled to land American Airlines terminal 3 at Heathrow 6:20 am. Coming from US Kennedy Airport in NY May 27. We will have only carry ons and no checked luggage.

Can we make an AirBerlin flight from terminal 3 at 7:40 am?

Thanks.

If your plane is on time, maybe. I wouldn't chance it.

On one ticket, no problem. Two bookings and you'd be foolish.

There's no reason for this NOT to be a through booking on one ticket (both airlines are One World) and minimum connect time international to international at T3 is 70 mins.

So - AS LONG AS IT IS ONE TICKET - if your incoming flight's late, BA/AA are obliged to put you on the next available flight anyway.

No-one has the foggiest whether you'll land on time, sol no-one can possibly tell you whether you'll make the connection you're booked on

Whenever I have flown into Heathrow (granted only 5 times over 10 years) it seems often we end up circling for 30 mins. or more waiting to get a spot in line for landing. I have no idea if this is typical, but that's why I wouldn't take the schedule you are asking about.

If possible, I would try to schedule a longer layover just to be on the safe side.

Why is it I suspect you've paid for this itinerary or booked it with FF miles? Are you in a non-refundable/non-changeable (without fees) situation and THAT is why you are asking?

On another thread the OP is asking about e-bookers so presumably it is one booking . . . But maybe not?

It is not one booking and yes as you suspect the first into London is FF miles. So, as I thought, it would be stupid to try it. Thanks!

You might make it - but if you don;t you will be a no show and will have to buy a new ticket at the walk up price - if they have another flight the same day.

I wouldn;t risk it.

Always error on the side of a longer connection time vs. trying to cut it too close. Remember, waiting an extra 30 to 60 minutes for your connecting flight is far better than arriving at your connecting flight's departure gate 1 minute after the flight pushes back from the gate.

If it is not one booking, I think you would be smart to go with a longer connection.

Since it is two bookings I'd give myself several hours. Not that you'd usually need a long time, but if your DC flight is delayed you'll be stuck.
